I came across this video today from the English TV programme, The X Factor. Scott James was diagnosed with Asperger's when he was 13 years old, and other than going to school, spent the next seven years hiding from the world, as he developed a fear of being around people. Free Australian Playgroups especially for Children with ASD

Soon-to-be released research by Playgroup Australia will confirm the enormous benefit that families receive from playgroups developed specifically for children diagnosed with autism. A report based on the experiences of 41 families who attended PlayConnect playgroups, which will be released in April for Autism Awareness Month, shows that 80% of these families said it had improved their child’s development. Autism Cures… hope or simply more emotion?

On World Autism Day, one of our National morning breakfast shows ran a segment on a 'Cure for Autism' http://au.tv.yahoo.com/sunrise/factsheets/article/-/article/7013716/mum-i-cured-my-sons-autism-with-diet/2/ Since that day, the blog has run hot with comments varying from agreement and wonderment, to down right anger and resentment.
